Nepal Relief

On August 26, catastrophic flash floods tore through parts of Nepal, sweeping away homes, roads, bridges, and hydropower infrastructure. More than 350 people are confirmed dead and more than 1,000 remain missing, with the toll still rising (as of 8-27). 

Thankfully all of our friends and students are safe. However, our friends in the village of Goljung and surrounding areas—where we are currently working to build a chapel—are completely cut off with the roads and bridges that once connected them now gone. It will be a long road to recovery for so many Nepalis. Please keep them in your prayers. (Pictured here are some friends from Goljung when we visited last year.) 

We are working closely with our friends at Catholic Frontier Missions and Fr. Silas Bogati, Apostolic Administrator of the Catholic Church in Nepal, who are coordinating relief through the Holy Father’s office and Nepali Catholic Church leadership. They have approval of the Vatican and the Catholic Church of Nepal to raise and direct funds that go straight to worthy rebuilding projects, tax-free, with full reporting on their use.
